5.8.5. Replacement of epiploons of a cranked shaft

At detection of traces of a podtekaniye of oil through epiploons of a cranked shaft at first check, whether the system of ventilation of a case is littered and whether hoses of system of ventilation of a case are pressed, in the presence of malfunctions eliminate them. If the leak of oil does not stop, replace epiploons.

Sign of need of replacement of a forward epiploon of a cranked shaft is the oil leak through its edge. Thus oil is sprayed by a rotating pulley of a cranked shaft owing to what greasy there is all forward part of the engine and a belt of a drive of the gas-distributing mechanism.

It be required to you: all tools necessary for removal of a drive of the gas-distributing mechanism (see. «Replacement of a belt of a drive of the gas-distributing mechanism and its tension roller»), screw-driver, hammer.

For replacement of a forward epiploon of a cranked shaft execute the following.

1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.

2. Establish the piston of the 1st cylinder in the provision VMT of a step of compression (see. «Installation of the piston of the first cylinder in the provision VMT of a step of compression»).

3. Remove a belt of a drive of the gas-distributing mechanism (see. «Replacement of a belt of a drive of the gas-distributing mechanism and its tension roller»).

4. Remove a gear pulley of a cranked shaft...	5.... and remote ring.

6. Having hooked a screw-driver, take an epiploon from a nest of the oil pump.

7. Before installation of a new epiploon examine its working edge. It should be equal, without вырывов, dents and rubber flows. The spring of an epiploon should be whole and unextended. Grease a working edge with engine oil.

8. Establish an epiploon in a nest, accurately fill a working edge on a cranked shaft (for example, by means of a wooden stick) and press against the stop by means of a suitable opravka.

9. Establish all removed details and knots as it should be, the return to removal.

10. Adjust a tension of belts of a drive of the generator and the conditioner compressor (see. «Check of a tension of a belt of a drive of the generator and the conditioner compressor»), and also the pump of the hydraulic booster of a steering (see. «Check and adjustment of a tension of a belt of a drive of the pump of the hydraulic booster of a steering»).

The leak of an epiploon of primary shaft of a transmission or back epiploon of a cranked shaft can be the reason of a zamaslivaniye of disks of coupling.

Motor and transmission oils have a different smell therefore at a certain skill it is possible to determine by a smell, what of epiploons the defective.

Good advice There is one more way of definition such as oil. Drip oil in the water poured in a vessel by a thin layer (it is possible in a pool). Transmission oil will spread on all water surface in the form of an iridescent film, and motor remains in the form of a drop similar to grain of lentil.

For replacement of a back epiploon execute the following.

1. Remove a transmission (see. «Removal and transmission installation»).

2. Remove coupling (see. «Removal and coupling installation»).

3. Remove a flywheel (see. «Removal, defektovka and flywheel installation»).

4. Examine an epiploon: if it lost tightness, in its lower part will be visible began to flow oils.

5. Remove an oil case of the engine (see. «Replacement of consolidation of an oil case»).

Note Original back epiploon of a cranked shaft replace assembled with the holder.

6. Turn out four bolts of fastening...	7.... also remove the holder assembled with a back epiploon.

8. Establish the removed knots as it should be, the return to removal.

Note The epiploon of stereotyped execution has no holder, and at certain skills it is possible to replace an epiploon, without removing it the holder from the car.

Having hooked a screw-driver, take an epiploon from a nest of the holder. Before installation grease a working edge of an epiploon with engine oil.

Establish an epiploon in a nest, accurately fill a working edge on a cranked shaft (for example, by means of a wooden stick) and press against the stop by means of a suitable opravka.

Recommendation At installation of a flywheel grease a carving part of bolts of its fastening with an anaerobny clamp of a carving.
